As May is recognized as National Women's Health Month, a highly anticipated cervical health fair took place at The Foundation Venue in Imbilo, Durban, bringing together renowned guest speakers and healthcare professionals to educate and empower women about cervical health.

The event featured MkaMlungu Omhlophe, a popular TikTok influencer, who shared her inspiring story of overcoming infertility. "I suffered from infertility for 9 years, which was a very depressing time for me and my husband," MkaMlungu said.
"We spent almost our life savings on medication and treatments, but I was determined to get answers. I was diagnosed with cysts, clots, and other symptoms that made it difficult for me to conceive."
Despite the challenges, MkaMlungu's faith and perseverance paid off. "With God's glory and my unwavering faith, I was blessed with a son and a daughter," she exclaimed. "My journey has taught me the importance of women's health and the need for awareness about reproductive health issues."
Other attendees also shared their personal stories, highlighting the impact of hormonal imbalances and irregular periods on their lives. Some women spoke about their struggles with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid disorders, and other hormonal issues that affected their menstrual cycles and overall well-being.
Evashnee Naidoo, a dedicated midwife, shared her expertise on cervical health and cancer prevention, emphasizing the importance of regular screenings and healthy habits. "Early detection is key to preventing cervical cancer," she stressed. "Women should prioritize their health and schedule regular check-ups with their healthcare providers."

The cervical health fair aimed to create a supportive and informative environment where women could share their experiences, ask questions, and learn from healthcare professionals. By promoting awareness and education about women's health, the event empowered attendees to take control of their well-being and make informed decisions about their bodies.
The event's success was evident in the meaningful conversations and connections that took place, and it served as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing women's health and well-being.
