Born in Orlando East and raised on rhythm, DJ Mremz is turning his love for music into an unstoppable journey from Virtual DJ in Grade 6 to international collaborations and dreams of Coachella.

The Beat of Orlando East

The story of Tebogo Nkosana Letlojane, known to fans as DJ Mremz, begins in the heart of Soweto. As a sixth grader, he stumbled upon Virtual DJ and unknowingly opened the door to his future.

“At first, it was just a hobby, but the love for it developed over time.”

What started in his bedroom soon turned into studio sessions, sneaking out during lockdowns, and learning production and keyboards by sheer determination.

Crafting a Signature Sound

Mremz’s sound blends Jazz, House, R&B, Soul, and Amapiano into something uniquely his. His breakthrough arrived with the EP “Jazzy World”, which caught fire after Kabza De Small played the title track during a live set.

“I knew it was a good song once I saw Kabza play it. That moment gave me chills.”

The success opened doors for projects like “Eyama Pantsula” and “Mpiloentle,” earning him respect in the Amapiano movement.

Global Reach, Local Roots

From Soweto to the UK, Mremz’s name is crossing borders. Collaborations with Emma The DJ prove his music travels far. Yet, his heart stays close to home, with Kwaito-inspired sounds shaping his upcoming sequel to “Eyama Pantsula.” Dreaming bigger, Mremz sets his sights on Coachella and Ibiza:

“That’s where I see myself—on the biggest stages, representing my sound and my roots.”

Giving Back to the Game

Mremz’s goals go beyond personal success. He envisions his own record label, mentoring young artists and giving them the platform he once wished for.“I’d like to help young artists grow. I know how hard it can be when you’re just starting out.”
