However, Atlegang Kgagudi, the mastermind behind ZaniaCouture-Zaniak, is an exception to the rule. With a childhood steeped in fashion, a late grandmother who inspired her career path, and a passion for sustainability, Atlegang's eponymous label is making waves in the industry.

Growing up, Atlegang Kgagudi was surrounded by the vibrant colors and textures of her grandmother's traditional clothing. Her late grandmother, Maki MMamosaka Makou/Thlabane, was a constant source of inspiration, teaching Atlegang valuable lessons about hard work, dedication and the importance of individualism. These lessons have stayed with Atlegang to this day, influencing her design philosophy and aesthetic .

Atlegang Kgagudi's educational journey began at the Cape Town College of Fashion Design (CTCFD), where she honed her skills and developed a keen eye for detail. She later attended the North West School of Design (NWSD), where she refined her craft and gained valuable insight into the world of fashion. These institutions played a significant role in shaping Atlegang's perspective and preparing her for the challenges of the fashion industry.

After completing her studies, Atlegang Kgagudi worked tirelessly to establish herself as a reputable fashion designer. In 2021, she launched her own label, ZaniaCouture-Zaniak, with the goal of creating clothing that also promotes sustainability and social responsibility.

Atlegang Kgagudi's design process is deeply personal, drawing inspiration from her childhood, her grandmother's stories. Her collections are a testament to her creativity and attention to detail, with each piece carefully crafted to tell a story and evoke emotion.

As a fashion designer and entrepreneur, Atlegang has faced her fair share of challenges. However, she remains committed to her vision, using her platform to promote positive change and inspire a new generation of fashion designers.
